ALSO ATTENDING: R. Boikess (BOT Faculty Representative), B. Everett (Senator), M. Gower (Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Administration), V. Hewitt (University Senate Executive Secretary), W. Purcell (BOT Faculty Representative), T. Shinbrot (Senator), C. White (Senator), N. Yusuf (BOT Graduate Student Representative)

A special meeting of the University Senate Executive Committee was held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. remotely via Zoom.

Call to Order – Lucille Foster, Senate Chair

Chair Foster called the July 12, 2024 Senate Executive Committee meeting to order at 1:02 p.m.

Resolution on the 2024-25 University Budget – Submitted by Senator Troy Shinbrot, School of Engineering, Faculty

The Executive Committee added the following clauses:

• “WHEREAS, according to the university administration, the State of New Jersey has routinely underfunded Rutgers University; and”
• “RESOLVED that the Senate implores the president to redouble efforts with the New Jersey legislature to dramatically increase public funding of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey; and.”

The Executive Committee also replaced “demands” with “expects.”

The amended resolution was adopted by the Executive Committee on behalf of the Senate.

Adjournment

The Executive Committee adjourned at 2:03 p.m.
